We pride ourselves in being different to other wedding bands, so you won't find any ABBA or 'Amarillo' songs in our set list! We leave that to the DJs! If you are after something unique and memorable for your dance floor, then this is the band for you!

Guaranteeing a packed dance floor all night with an extensive and amazing set list including Swing, Pop, Lounge, Jive, RnB and Chart all performed in our own "Velvet" style.

We know how difficult it can be organising music for your wedding. We can assist in organising all aspects of the music for you from the drinks reception music up to the main evening entertainment and the DJ service!

How Long Does The Band Play For?

The Velvets usually play a two and half hour set, with a 15 min break in the middle. This will often coincide with evening supper at the Venue. Our drinks reception Trio plays for 2 hours.

Will It Be Too Loud?

We always keep our music at a level that can be enjoyed by all, even in more intimate venues, your guests will not be forced out of the room by volume.

Do You Have Everything You Need?

We have our own top quality sound and lighting equipment, all we need at the venue is a power socket!

How Long Does It Take To Set Up?

We can be ready to play in about 30mins. Many venues need to “turn around” the room after dinner, and we can set up while this is happening or as soon as the band area/stage is cleared.

How Do I Book?

Drop us a mail to check availability. You can reserve your date by email/phone and we take a booking deposit by cheque or bank transfer to confirm, please see bookings section for full details.

Do You Travel To My Venue?

We are happy to travel all over the country. A travel charge may apply for distances more than an hour from Dublin. We use AA Ireland route planner to calculate travel charges. For example, Dublin to Roscommon return trip is calculated at approximately €40 fuel cost per band member - the 4 hours travel time is free!

Your Music Videos Look And Sound Great, But Will People Be Able To Dance?

Yes! We have a full set of great music for dancing, we have been playing weddings and dance events for many years. Have a look through our Playlist.

Can You Play Our First Dance?

A First Dance together as Husband and Wife is a lovely and important tradition! We will be happy to play any song you may have in mind, or we can suggest some popular ones if you like. We can play a special recording through our sound system if you prefer. The First dance is also a great way of getting everyone focused on the dancefloor and getting the party started!

How Long Does The DJ take to Set up?

If you opt for our DJ service, he will set up at the same time as the band, and we will share the sound system - this means less equipment, less speakers and a neater set up. It also means he seamlessly can play his first note at precisely the same time as the Velvets play our last!
